This may surprise you, but if you are a faithful, church-attending Christian, you have probably never heard the gospel as specifically designed for this time; that is, the gospel presented in the last book of the Bible, Revelation.
Revelation is focused on events near the end of time, yet most Christian teachers, pastors, and priests ignore the Book of Revelation and the gospel they ought to be preaching.
The reason for the rejection of the most important book of the Bible for our time is difficult to understand or explain. Revelation 14 contains the most dramatic warnings expressed anywhere in Scripture.
These warnings are called “the everlasting gospel.” Rev. 14:6 says, “Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth” (NIV). In verse 7, this angel announces that this gospel is for a specific time, the beginning of the final judgment.
In Revelation 14, after the preaching of all three of the three angels’ messages, Jesus returns to harvest His ripened grain (the saved) and crush the grapes of wrath (the lost).
Jesus opened the gospel to the people of His day, and that same Jesus repeats, through John, the gospel anew in the context of last-day events. As Christians, we need to hear the special gospel message to be preached just before the second coming of Christ.
The first angel preaches that to be saved, the peoples of the earth must worship the God of creation. The second angel announces that the apostate churches are fallen. The third angel warns against the worship of the beast and the image of the beast.
The consequence for rejecting the final gospel message is horrific because all gospel proclamation is coming to an end! Destinies will soon be fixed. Final choices will be made.
God will halt the preaching of the gospel for one simple reason: the harvest is ripe. Just as in Noah’s time, a time is coming when the door of mercy to the lost will be closed. Sin and suffering will not go on one extra hour. It will be finished!
The beast of Revelation 14 represents apostate religious powers that mimic true Christianity. The key religious authority of Babylon is the Roman Papacy, which teaches as truth the doctrines of demons—the pagan notion of the immortality of the soul and the pagan-inspired day of rest, Sunday.
These false teachings open the way for demonic delusions. These two teachings, as well as many others, are mere human traditions. They stand in stark contrast to the Word of God.
God loves His people who are in Babylon, but He calls them to come out of her. Babylon is guilty of the blood of Christian martyrs in every age, and God has destined that Babylon be destroyed.
When the people of the earth learn that the worship of the beast is the worship of man, and reject the God of heaven, the end will come.
Today is the time for you to make your choice to follow Jesus wherever He leads, no matter the consequences. A great persecution is soon to begin. Get ready!
