Babylon Uncovered is dedicated to proclaiming the eternal gospel for the time of the end as found in Rev. 14. This special chapter of the Bible contains the most solemn warnings ever recorded.

Could it be that the world is hurtling toward events that will determine each of our destinies and that God has warned the world about these events for thousands of years? Would it not be terrible if someone could know what was coming, but for some reason, missed all the warnings?

Sadly, this is the condition of the vast majority of the people in the world. God’s Word has provided a great number of details about events in the near future. Unfortunately, for numerous reasons, many millions have no access to the Bible or its teachings.

People might be in a religion that rejects or forbids the study of the Bible; or they might be in a religion that accepts the Bible, but actually teaches very little from it; or destroys its meaning through a desire to deceive; or practices faulty methods of interpretation, forgetting that the average person can, by study, learn what the Bible teaches.

What I say above may sound as if I myself am claiming some special access to truth; that if my readers would simply listen to me, they would be able to know the truth. Not true! In fact, you shouldn’t take anyone’s interpretation of the Bible without your own study. I ask that you allow my words to spur you to your own investigation.

You see, the Bible contains within itself the keys to understanding. One portion explains another portion. In a deep study of the Bible, we should accept the clearest truths just as they are, and then add to those the witness of the whole Bible for texts that are more difficult. With this method and the help of the Holy Spirit, the truth will become clear.

In Babylon Uncovered, I present what the Bible says using the method of interpretation just described. But you must take it from there! I study the Bible with three key assumptions: the Bible is meant to be understood, the Bible can be understood, if studied, and the Bible explains itself.

People can miss truth through carelessness and neglect of these assumptions. Understanding the Bible takes commitment. Mark Twain says that a classic book is one everyone talks about, but nobody reads. That’s the fate of the Bible! In the United States today, most homes have a Bible, or many Bibles, but they remain, for the most part, unread and unstudied. Consequently, millions of people remain unaware of what’s coming on the earth!

You probably know about the Bible, but have you studied the Bible? If you have not, you are likely to believe that the Bible teaches things it actually does not teach. More importantly, you may miss out on critical warnings the Bible contains. You may, you will, be the victim of at least one of the voices in the world today claiming to teach the “truths” of the Bible, which are, in reality, deadly falsehoods.

Since there are so many churches, and so many interpretations, how can you determine what is true and what is false? No pastor, no priest, is a substitute for your own diligent efforts. At best, teachers and theologians can point you in the right direction, but it still remains for you to know the truth for yourself.

Want to make it off this planet? Want to have eternal life? Don’t allow yourself to believe a lie or worship a false Christ. Study the Word! In it there is life.
